Good for a younger audience
Mark Banks (United Kingdom)
Opinion: Recommended
I thought this was a good little picture, and for me to speak favourably of figure-animated film is saying something. The positives are that I felt the film captured Jesus's humility well, and importantly I felt the filmmakers did a good job in targeting the film to a younger audience; for example with a good amount of time being given to Jesus's healing of Jairus's young daughter. This is a film I'd recommend as a gift for younger child. The only downsides were that I felt the passion was under-played; I know the primary audience is children but I felt this could have been depicted better, especially with the crucifixion scene taking place during what looked like evening or night-time. And also I felt the ending could have focussed more on the transcendent nature of Jesus, rather than erring on the side of depicting him more as a nice man.
